Abstract

Various water-tolerant oxometallic species were examined as catalysts for an esterification in 1:1 stoichiometry. TiO(acac)2 tolerates many functional groups and offers a mild and chemoselective condensation of various, 1°-2° alkyl and aryl alcohols with 1°-3° alkyl and aryl carboxylic acids.
