Abstract

A combination of bromodimethylsulfonium bromide with zinc chloride is an excellent catalytic system for liquid-phase Beckmann rearrangement of various ketoximes into the corresponding amides/lactams in acetonitrile at reflux temperature with good to excellent yields.
