A General Method for the Formation of Aryl-Sulfur Bonds Using Copper(I) Catalysts

Abstract

A mild, palladium-free method for C-S-bond formation is reported. The standard protocol using 10 mol-% CuI, 10 mol-% neocuproine, with NaOtBu as the base gave aryl sulfides in excellent yields from thiols and iodides.
