Abstract

A highly enantioselective, nitroaldol reaction of both aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes catalyzed by a chiral Cu(II) bis(oxazoline) complex afforded products in good yields and enantioselectivities. The sense of asymmetric induction is discussed.
