Improved Conditions for Facile Overman Rearrangement

Abstract

The range of substrates that undergo the thermal Overman rearrangement effectively has been expanded by using K2CO3 as base in xylene at reflux. This modified Overman rearrangement is even more useful for syntheses of complex nitrogen-containing natural products.
