Abstract

Pd(OAc)2 is an extremely active catalyst for the Suzuki reaction of aryl iodides and bromides in a mixture of water and poly(ethylene glycol) at 50°C. Products are readily isolated by the extraction with diethyl ether, and Pd(OAc)2-PEG can be reused without significant loss in activity.
