Abstract
An indium(III) chloride catalyzed Biginelli reaction of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds, aldehydes, and ureas offers an easy access to a broad range of dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-ones and thiones in very high yields. This mild reaction offers simplicity and tolerates a wide variety of substitutions.
