Abstract

Mild palladium-catalyzed, regioselective chlorinations, brominations, and iodinations of arene C-H bonds using N-halosuccinimides as oxidants are described. These transformations can provide products that are complementary to those obtained via conventional electrophilic aromatic substitution reactions.
