Abstract
A direct O2-coupled Wacker oxidation with use of balloon pressure of O2, low catalyst loading and (-)-sparteine as a ligand on Pd prevents olefin isomerization and allows the oxidation of enantiomerically enriched substrates with no observed racemization.
