Abstract
1,1,1-Trifluoroacetone can be used as a hydride-acceptor in the Oppenauer oxidation of secondary alcohols in the presence of diethylethoxyaluminum. The oxidant enables a selective oxidation of secondary alcohols in the presence of primary alcohols.
