Abstract
Intramolecular enyne metathesis of terminal alkynes gave the desired cyclized dienes in almost quantitative yield in the presence of only 1 mol% of a ruthenium carbene complex under an atmosphere of ethylene gas. In the absence of ethylene, the desired products were obtained in low yields.
