Abstract

N-Isocyaniminotriphenylphosphorane, aldehydes, and benzoic acids undergo a one-pot, three-component reaction under mild conditions to afford 2-aryl-5-hydroxyalkyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles in good yields.
