Abstract

The reaction of various aromatic and aliphatic amides in the presence of ammonium phosphorodithioate as an efficient thionation reagent proceeded effectively to afford the corresponding thioamides in high yields. This method is easy, rapid, and high-yielding for the synthesis of thioamides from amides using an easily handled reagent.
