Abstract
An Ir-catalyzed enantioselective benzylation reaction of allylic electrophiles can occur directly from aryl acetic acids via stereoselective carbon-carbon bond formation followed by decarboxylation as the terminal event. The absence of a highly basic nucleophile enables broad functional group compatibility.
