Abstract
A palladium-catalyzed reaction of aryl iodides with S-aryl thioformates as thioester sources proceeded at ambient temperature. A variety of substrates furnishes thioesters in good yields under the reaction conditions. A gram-scale reaction was also conducted, indicating that large-scale synthesis of thioesters may be viable using this method.
