Abstract
An efficient oxidative amination of sulfenamides using diacetoxyiodobenzene (PhI(OAc)2) and amines provides sulfinamidines in very good yields under mild, metal-free conditions. Furthermore, possible pathways are proposed that elucidate the observed molecular sequence of events in this reaction.
