Abstract
A photoredox-catalyzed insertion of sulfoxonium ylides with a broad range of carboxylic acids provides α-acyloxy ketones under mild and simple conditions. A combined experimental and computational study suggests that this reaction proceeds via a stepwise proton-assisted electron transfer mechanism.
