Abstract
The use of NFSI as an oxidant enables a metal-free oxidative trideuteromethylthiolation of alkenes with CD3SSO3Na as a readily available reagent. An aminotrideuteromethylthiolation could be easily achieved in the presence of a cobalt catalyst.
