Abstract

An efficient decarboxylative N-formylation of amines with glyoxylic acid provides formamides in good yields. The reaction tolerates a wide range of functional groups under metal free and base free conditions. In addition, large-scale experiments and high chemoselectivity have shown great potential application of this strategy.
