Abstract

gem-Diborylalkanes are valuable synthons for diverse C-C bond-forming reactions. A Pd-catalysed hydrogenation of gem-diborylalkenes provides gem-diborylalkanes. gem-Diborylalkenes can be prepared from the corresponding aldehydes and ketones using known procedures.
