Abstract
An aldol condensation of methyl ketones with cyclic ketones provides β-branched β,γ-unsaturated ketones in the presence of a chromium catalyst responsible for an isomerization. This highly chemoselective and regioselective reaction forms single-crossed condensation products even in reactions in which a mixture of products is possible.
