Abstract
Poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) supported nanosized palladium metal colloids catalyzed the Sonogashira reaction of aryl iodides and bromides with terminal alkynes in the absence of ligand, copper and amine in an environmental-friendly reaction system with ethanol as the solvent and potassium carbonate as a base. The catalyst can be recovered and recycled by a simple decantation.
