Abstract
A highly convenient catalytic variant of the Kabachnik-Fields reaction of ketones, diethylphosphite and either benzylamine or ammonium carbonate in the presence of tetra-tert-butylphthalocyanines affords α-aminophosphonates in acceptable yields for various ketones, including cyclic, sterically hindered and cage ketones.
