Abstract
Three series of different 3,5-disubstituted α,ω-diphenylpolyynes were synthesized under optimized Cadiot-Chodkiewicz conditions, isolated and completely characterized. These compounds can be considered as model substances for a hypothetical one-dimensional carbon allotrope carbyne.
