Synthesis of boronic acids

Recent Literature

The deprotection of boronic esters can be performed under mild conditions in the presence of methylboronic acid. The reaction provides high yields, and eliminates cumbersome and problematic purification steps due to the high volatility of methylboronic acid and its diol esters.

A catalytic system has been optimized to promote hydrolysis of trifluoroborates and formation of boronates from boronic acids. FeCl3 associated with imidazole and water favors boron refunctionalization under mild conditions.
